Updated 1/29/98 Welcome to Our Place in cyberspace. Since we're not able to visit with our out-of-town friends and family as often as we'd like to, we're hoping that this Website will help stay in touch and up to date with everyone throughout the year. We plan to update Our Place each month with Charlie's latest photos and other newsworthy family exploits. We hope you'll visit us often and sign our guest book each time to let us know what's new with you. The months of December and January were hectic ones. Sadly, we lost Chris' Grand Uncle Donald Malone suddenly to lung cancer on December 18, 1997. We had planned for him to make the trip from Brooklyn to Atlanta to spend Christmas with us, so he remained in our thoughts throughout the holidays. Chris made the trip to Brooklyn before Christmas to handle the funeral arrangements and put Donald's affairs in order. If there was any silver lining to Donald's passing, it was that Chris met a distant cousin, Maureen Whitfleet, at the funeral. Through their mutual interest in the Malone family history, Chris has also made contact with cousins Bob Toole and Kathy Flavin. Together they are filling in the gaps in the Malone family tree. Lots of new information has been added to our Family History section, so please stop by and take a look. We chose to stay put this year for the Christmas and New Years Holidays, and let our relatives travel to us for a change. It was great not having to travel and for Charlie to have Christmas in his own home. Grandpa Larry and Grandma Marylou had a restful visit with us during the week of Christmas before returning to North Carolina. The following week, Charlie's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Matt came to visit for the New Years weekend. We gave them the "Atlanta Tour" and visited Stone Mountain, CNN Studios, The Underground and our own Dunwoody Park. Be sure to check out all the Christmas pictures in Charlie's photo album. Well, that's all the news in this update. Please let us know what's happening with you! |
